For our Art Club Project this time the theme was to interpret a song or words of a song into a picture. I chose "Gravity of Love" because even though I have heard it over and over again it still remians one of my favorite songs to date. Theres just some relaxing yet deep emotional quality about it.

The chorus is what really makes the it unique though. Throughout the song, the lyrics "O fortuna velut luna" (latin for "O fotune like the moon" if Im not mistaken) are repeated in a Carmina Burana fashion that gives it such a dramatic and timeless feel. If you have ever heard the famous "One-winged Angel" song from Final Fantasy 7, you will know what I am talking about since both songs are based on the same style.


I decided to go for an actual literal translation of one line in the song since I really liked the picture it made in my head. The whole song is comparing love to gravity, as both are strong forces that hold us down, and you must survive when you feel that you are alone in the chaos of the world because eventually you will find your soul mate. The picture its self was an experiment again for drawing backgrounds, clouds, and water. I definately need more practice on all of those. The whole scene is done in one color, just changing the values and amount of saturation. I wanted to give it a dreary and dull feel so that the white bird would have more contrast. Also I just made the water up as I went along, so if anyone has any tips they would like to share, I would appreciate the help.
