After reading the 7th and final book I HAVE to do at least one tribute Harry Potter picture... although I have plans for more if they ever materialize themselves on paper properly.
This last book was a tear jerker. TT_TT And now that it is finished I almost feel empty inside. The only way I think I can accept that it is finished after 8 years of following the story, is the fact that HP still will live on forever in fanfiction.
Random Artists Note: (for the anime fans out there)
Have you ever noticed how similar Tom Riddle and Raito from Death Note can be. I mean... an extraordinarily handsome genius who starts to mass murder a certain type of people to better the rest of society (in their eyes), who is able to persuade people easily and has their own following of worshipers, who eventually goes insane with power and turns out to fear their own death above everything else. I know its a stretch, but I saw a small connection and ran with it.... wait that makes L... Harry Potter >.>
***SPOILER ALERT***
Anyway, on a similar note, I dont know if you have read the latest article in Newsweek on Harry Potter (its probably just me though because I am a dork), but it mentions the connection between HP and Christianity. Basically, Harry is sort of like Jesus, especially in the final book, in that he "walks willingly to his own death in order to save the world" and afterward comes to a place with a "great domed glass roof [that] glittered high above him in the sunlight" talking to a father figure with long silver hair and beard "whose supernatural powers are accompanied by a profound message of love." And THEN he is "resurrected" in a sense to lead the good side to ultimate victory over evil.
Therefore, and this is just my analysis, Voldemort would have to be something of the Anti-Christ (just as Raito would sort of be in my discussions with ~Fallen-Ashes). He is supposedly, and just bear with me if I get this wrong since I am not religious in any sense of the word, a handsome young man who is good at leading people into darkness with the air of being peaceable.
And according to Wikipedia "will attempt to win supporters with great works [aka magic], and will silence anyone or make enemies of any country that refuses their allegiance by refusing to 'receive his mark [aka the dark mark].'" Sound anything like Voldy to you? And something that I didnt even know until now is that "some Christians believe that the Antichrist will be assassinated half way through the Tribulation, being revived and indwelt by Satan" which sounds to me like when he was killed only to be later brought back to life 14 years later.
Now that you mention it....Light REALLY is similar to Tom......and even if this would make Harry L....they aren't really alike each other. Does Harry like much sweet things? ....no.....nevermind.
But Tom is a poor guy....like mentioned in the book. Different from Light....Light is coming from a nice family with much options (well...his father IS chief of a part the police department...or something like that, ne?)....while Tom is orphan and his motives had developed from the beginning on...Light only got this since when he found the Death Note...........and Tom, Severus and Harry are three similar boys...seeing Hogwarts as their true and only home...*sniffs*
I really love how you have draw him, his face is priceless and colour is very well done
He is like I have picture him reading the books
